Johnny Cao-Nguyen, O.D.

Johnny Cao-Nguyen, OD is a full-scope optometrist, specializing in emergency eye care and ocular disease, particularly dry eye and retinal disease. Dedicated to providing comprehensive eye care, he is passionate about educating his patients on their ocular health and believes in maintaining open communication with them to ensure that they receive the most personalized care possible.

Dr. Cao-Nguyen completed his undergraduate studies at CSU Long Beach in Molecular Cell Biology & Physiology and continued on to receive his doctorate in Optometry from UC Berkeley School of Optometry. Following graduation, Dr. Cao-Nguyen completed a residency in Primary Care/Ocular Disease at the State University of New York College of Optometry. During his training, Dr. Cao-Nguyen gained advanced experience in contact lens fittings and the treatment and management of various ocular diseases including dry eye, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and more.

Originally from Orange County, Dr. Cao-Nguyen is new to San Diego, joining Morris Eye Group in 2023. In his spare time, he enjoys baking, seeing and singing along to Broadway musicals, indulging in the latest Korean dramas, and seeing all that San Diego has to offer.
